What're you guys gonna do after this year's Nano ends? (besides the norm of course xD) Continue with your novels? Make new ones? Prepare for Palanca next year maybe?
Me, I'm gonna continue reading Gregory Maguire's Out of Oz while I start on this novel that I'm planning.. What about you? :D
1) I might go ahead and self-publish my 2010 NaNo novel, "Queer Content." It was originally a novella, which I later rewrote as a novel.
I've been querying in the country for some time now; since it has really controversial themes like secularism, the Catholic Church interfering in politics, and homosexuality, I don't think any publisher in the Philippines would even consider taking on my project.
I've been querying abroad lately. I'm still waiting for lit agents to respond (or to not). If they don't, I'll self-publish via POD and e-pub.
I might even take advantage of the CreateSpace offer this year. There's also Smashwords for e-publishing, and Central Books for local POD. And if you've been reading The E-book Revolution, you'll see that e-publishing can sometimes be more profitable than traditional publishing.
2) Besides that, I've got a pile of stuff I need to read:
*Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett *Out of Oz by Gregory Maguire *The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien *The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien *Leviathan by Scott Westrfeld *Sellevision by Augusten Burroughs *A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin
I have to finish all this by December 31. It's just like NaNoReaMo. :)
3) Script Frenzy, if I have time. Right now, it's not really a priority. I just think writing a musical about the Flying Spaghetti Monster might be fun. :P
1. This year's novel is not even close to an ending, so I'm thinking of sprinting all the way through December until at least I finally conclude the story.
2. Edit 2011 novel.
3. Write another 23k novella for a quick buck.
4. Catch up on reading. I want to finish A Song of Ice & Fire series so bad.
5. I'd like to get out of town for some fresh air. Been thinking of going to Los Banos which doubles as a quick R&R and some setting research since the place is where the story of my novel took place.
1. Keep on writing since my novel won't be finished by 50k (50k means only the first part and I have two more parts to go!). Hope I finish and find time to edit next year.
2. Edit. Again, I hope.
3. Attempt to work on 2008 novel again.
4. Read. Read. Read. I never stop reading so this isn't anything new.
5. Christmas parties.
Btw, are you guys game for off-season meet-ups? You don't have to wait for me or Liana to meet up of course, but we can have off season writerly things, if we have enough people willing to attend. :D
1. Planning of the UST English Language Society, since my course is a revision of the traditional AB English, we can say that my major is new in the Philippines.
What I know I'm doing: Let this year's NaNo sleep before I edit and finish. Then I will decide if I should adapt it for Script Frenzy in April, since a lot of the themes from this one would be great to present visually.
On the list of non-grad school/ non-Diliman things:
- Edit my 2010 novel; have it reviewed before I put it up for query - Edit my Camp NaNo 2011 novel... though this baby will have to wait until the 2010 one gets its sea legs back and/or the alleged "inspiration" for this novel does not get his grubby hands on the manuscript (yeah, right) - Read actual books, as opposed to newspapers and tabloids - Catch up on exercise - Catch up on sleep
I'm going to start coding. Here's a bunch of stuff I plan to work on with their very own names
EpicGraph: This is a web based app for free ebooks, while making sure authors are profitable. It comes with a built-in viral tools and NO ADS. Authors earn money through book recommendations and an affiliate based monetization system. I made a launch page to force myself to code, since I need to finish it before March, the editing time for most people in NaNo.
Shipr: It's for writers and coders. Set a time between 20 minutes to a week. If it's time for the deadline, whatever you wrote will be published. This is way for people to write everyday. Failure will spit out a fail message like 'I was too weak to do something simple.' For apps, it means that the app will be glitchy and that is scary as hell.
Rapid: No bullshit powerpoint software that uses HTML/CSS and XML. Type a word and click the text to picture/video, then the picture/video will be there immediately. It also generates a mind map instead of an outline to enhance productivity.
1. I will redo my novel and then create it's sequel
2. eat like a pig and sleep like a log
3. read - last 2 books of Percy Jackson and the Olympian series - The Last Hero and The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan - In the corner of his eyes by Dean Koontz

Re: Post-Nano
OMG i forgot about script frenzy.. i'll be using Prelude for that since my novel is a spinoff of a TV show.. this'll be awesome.. xD
Re: Post-Nano
- Catch up on VN commitments (bunch of characters to draw, ideas to correct...)
- Write a couple of short stories so I could put something on Wattpad and Figment. 8D
- 2010/2011 NaNo story goes back to the drawing board. My NaNo attempts are generally disastrous. ;__;
- Read a bunch of steampunk and, le gasp, Young Adult novels (I'm not really into the genre, but I've heard it has some nice stuff, so why not?)
Re: Post-Nano
1. Start studying.
2. Read. Read. Read.
3. Sleep, like a boss. (After I finish researching about how bosses sleep.)
4. Work on my music.
5. Wait anxiously for college entrance exam results.
Re: Post-Nano
1. Try to continue reading any book that I've neglected over the course of my short life.
2. Watch anime. Again. I've not watched anything new this month, yet I still claim to be the leader of my club XD
3. Game like crazy.
4. Roleplay like a boss.
5. Bake something nice.

1) Forget about my novel, then edit it.
2) Write the sequel(?).
3) Begin planning for next year's NaNoWriMo.
4) Read more James Rollins.
5) Read more Rick Riordan.
6) Draw cover for my novel for CreateSpace.
