2017 NaNo Coaches

Kayla AncrumK. Ancrum grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She was lured into getting an English degree after spending too many nights experimenting with hard literary criticism and hanging out with unsavory types, like poetry students. She cut her teeth on NaNoWriMo with her debut novel The Wicker King, and is working on a sequel titled The Weight of Stars. She is a self-professed procrastinator, and firmly believes that you can still get a job done well even if you waited until the last minute.

 

Jasmine GuilloryJasmine Guillory is lawyer and a writer who lives in Oakland, California. She has towering stacks of books in her living room, a cake recipe for every occasion, and upwards of 50 lipsticks. Her debut novel, The Wedding Date, comes out in February 2018.

 

Mur LaffertyMur Lafferty is a podcaster, author, and editor. She has two podcasts on writing: I Should Be Writing and Ditch Diggers. In 2017 her book based on ISBW came out, with the same title. Emily X.R. PanEmily X.R. Pan is the author of The Astonishing Color of After, which comes out on March 20, 2018. She currently lives in Brooklyn, New York, but was originally born in the Midwestern United States to immigrant parents from Taiwan. She received her MFA in fiction from NYU, where she was a Goldwater Fellow. She is the founding editor-in-chief of Bodega Magazine, and a 2017 Artist-in-Residence at Djerassi. G. S. PrendergastG. S. Prendergast is a novelist and screenwriter. She has been nominated for numerous awards, including the BC Book Prize, and the CLA Award. She won the Westchester Award in 2014. Gabrielle’s 2011 NaNoWriMo Novel, Zero Repeat Forever, was sold to Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers. It published in August 2017. Gabrielle lives in Vancouver with her husband, daughter and two chickens.
